How we treat gum disease

Is gum disease treatment painful?
A deep cleaning is done with the area numbed, so you stay comfortable. Some tenderness for a few days afterward is normal, and sedation is available for larger cases.
Is it covered by insurance?
Most PPO and HMO plans cover scaling and root planing because it treats an active disease, and we also accept Denti-Cal and Medi-Cal. We’ll verify your benefits and estimate costs.
How do I keep gum disease from coming back?
Daily brushing and cleaning between teeth, not smoking, and a periodontal maintenance schedule — often cleanings every three to four months — keep it from returning.
